Winchester Speedway up Next for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman

Salem, IN (June 2, 2021) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday on the famous High  Banks of Winchester Speedway, located just outside of Winchester, Indiana. That event will be the first of three events the series will have at Winchester Speedway in 2021. The series will also be part of the new King of the High Banks event over Labor Day Weekend and the series Season Championship event that will once again be part of the famed Winchester 400 Weekend.

Jeff Marcum picked up the win in the series 2021 season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 17th, leading 74 laps of the 75-lap event. Austin Coe picked up his first series win of the 2021 season at the series second event at Mt. Lawn Speedway on May 23rd, holding off a hardcharging Billy Hutson to get the close win.

Marcum comes into Saturday’s event as the points leader for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. Defending series Champion Hutson is in second place, he is seven points behind Marcum. Cassten Everidge and J.P. Crabtree are tied for third place, they are nine points behind Hutson. Ronnie Rose is in fifth place, he is four points behind Everidge and Crabtree.

There is an open practice at Winchester Speedway on Friday, pit gates open at 4pm with open practice from 6pm to 9pm. Pit Gates open on Saturday at 12pm. The CRA Late Model Sportsman will have two practice sessions starting at 2:30pm. Allstar Performance Qualifying is set to begin at 5:30pm. The race program will begin at 7pm and will include the Mrs. Wick’s Pies 51 for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS. Also racing Saturday will be the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in the Hoosier Daddy 100, the second Four Crown event of the season.

A special treat to all those in attendance is on Saturday with the return of the Winchester Old-Timers Reunion. More than 50 vintage cars, from various eras of racing around America, will be making laps on Winchester’s famed high banks. Fans will also have the opportunity to take pictures and sit in some of the machines that will come off the track and onto the midway afterwards.

After all the racing is complete, a special fireworks display will be featured to help kickoff summertime in the Midwest. The world famous Scarrette Pyrotechnics company out of Richmond, IN will be putting on an electrifying show for all fans in attendance.
