Transponder Scoring to Enhance Rumble Series
PREMIERE TRANSPONDER TIMING & SCORING TO TACKLE RUMBLE
Modern Technology Adds to Rumble Experience for Race Teams & Fans
FORT WAYNE, IN (December 4, 2022) – Long a staple at race operations throughout the industry, transponder timing and scoring will be put into action for this year’s 24th edition of the Rumble in Fort Wayne presented by Jason Dietsch Trailer Sales, December 30 & 31. Premier Transponder Timing and Scoring has been contracted to service the popular indoor racing event, conducted inside Fort Wayne’s Allen County War Memorial Coliseum & Expo Center on a purpose built 1/6 mile concrete oval.
“We have probably been behind the times,” commented Rumble owner/promoter Larry Boos. “Coming from the ‘old school’, we have been very fortunate to have some of the best hand scorers in the industry work with us at the Rumble, and due to their loyalty, I have been reluctant to move to the more modern transponder system. But the time has come to adopt the change. My hats off to the scoring teams that have done such an admirable job over the course of the years.”
Premiere Transponder Timing & Scoring is a full-service provider to all forms of motorsport, as well as active sports. Owned and operated by Kevin Greer since 1998, the business has seen the need for transponder-based timing grow each year. What started as 24 transponders at a small go kart track in southern Michigan, has grown into multiple systems and year-round contract service to tracks, sanctioning bodies, and special events across the country.
“My history with the Rumble in Fort Wayne goes back many years, and my involvement has included being a competitor as well as in administrative roles,” stated Greer. “To be invited to offer timing and scoring services to this prestigious winter event is an honor and a responsibility that my team takes very seriously. The multi-division event is fast-paced, and we are prepared with the technology and organization that our clients have come to expect.”
Each of Rumble divisions will utilize transponders. These include the Midgets, N. Baltimore Custom Cuts winged 600 Midgets, LiUNA non-winged 600 Midgets, go karts and Baker Racing Engines quarter midgets. All of the timing and scoring will be available to the race teams and fans on My Race Pass and Race Monitor,
