Points Chases Continue At Waynesfield

WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (8/17/17) – The points chase continues Saturday night at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio.  All five weekly classes return with just two points nights remaining in the 2017 season.  Saturday’s program will be headlined by the Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints running for a $600 to win payday.  The Mini Sprints will be taking their wings off for the final time in 2017.  The points battle is tight coming into the weekend with the top three drivers all within 15 points of one another.  Brad Strunk holds the lead by six 6 over Chris Bounds and 15 points over Anthony Haas.  Haas comes into the weekend on a high after picking up his first win of the season last weekend.

The Quest Federal Credit Union Non Wing Sprints, Satellite Connections UMP Modifieds, Block Insurance Tough Trucks, and Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts will also be on the program.  Like the Mini Sprints, the Non Wings and Compacts come into the weekend with tight points battles.  In the Non Wing standings, 4 points separate the top three.  Drew Rader leads by just 3 points over Kyle Simon and 4 points over last weekend’s feature winner Luke Hall.  Simon comes into the weekend the only of the three drivers to not pick up an A-main victory on the season.  In the Compacts, Justin Durflinger currently leads the standings with 551 points.  Brandon McDaries, who was on a winning stream early in the season, sits second, 4 points back.  Nick Glasgow sits third, 13 points behind Durflinger.

Adult general admission is just $12.  Kids aged 11-15 years old are admitted for $6 with everyone under the age of 10 admitted for free.  Pit passes are available for $25.  Pit side gates open at 4PM; grandstands at 5PM.  Cars hit the track for hot laps at 6PM with the first green flag of the night flying at 7PM.

The rescheduled Summer Sprint Sizzler will take place over Labor Day weekend on Sunday, September 3rd.  The event will feature four divisions of sprint car racing including the NRA Sprint Invaders, F.A.S.T 410 & 305’s, and the Waynesfield Mini Sprints.  Full details on rain checks from the original race as well as additional details can be found online at www.waynesfieldracewaypark.net.
