Route 66 Speedway Season FinaleBy: Rocky Ragusa Pontiac, IL. (October 19, 2008) - The Route 66 speedway in Pontiac concluded their 2008 racing season on Sunday with the largest event in recent history. 78 karters from across Illinois and Indiana converged on the 1/10 mile dirt oval. 9 classes ran with several running for addition money. The next scheduled event will be the banquet where drivers will honored. The banquet will be held on November 9 at the Bowling Center on Route 24 in Fairbury. It opens at 4, all you can eat and drink starts at 4:30, awards at 5:30, and open bowling at 6:00. Also the race on Sunday was videotaped by Dylan McCraw. The price of the DVD is $7.00.
